19 TikTok bio examples for UK barbers, cafés, trades, florists, market stalls and creators, each under 80 characters with the count, plus what to do before you get a link.

A good TikTok bio for a UK small business is short. It says what you do, the town or area you cover, and the one thing a viewer should do next, such as book, order or message you. Below are 19 example bios for UK trades and creators, each under 80 characters with the count next to it, so you can borrow the shape and swap in your own details.

Every example is made up, including the businesses, handles and short addresses. Rules about TikTok links come from TikTok's help centre, checked for our guide on adding a link to your TikTok bio, and the character counts were done with a script on 29 October 2026.

How long can a TikTok bio be?

TikTok shows a character counter under the Bio field in Edit profile, and that counter is the limit to trust. We could not find a TikTok help page that states the number, and third-party guides disagree. Most of the ones we read say 80, a few report more. Every bio in this guide is 80 characters or fewer, written for that commonly reported 80, so check it against the counter in your own app.

Spaces and punctuation count. Emojis count too, so check the counter after adding one. The website link, if you have one, sits in its own field and is not part of the bio text.

What should a small business put in its TikTok bio?

A business bio on TikTok should answer four questions for a viewer who has just watched one of your videos, before they scroll on.

  1. What you do, in plain words, such as 'skin fades', 'boiler repairs' or 'wedding cakes'.
  2. Who it is for, if that narrows things down, such as 'beginners' or 'new clients'.
  3. Where you are, because a viewer in Aberdeen is unlikely to use a barber in Brixton.
  4. What to do next, such as 'Book below', 'WhatsApp for a quote' or 'New slots Sundays at 6pm'.

Here is one filled in. 'Personal trainer in Bournemouth. Strength training for beginners. Book below' (76 characters). The job comes first, the place is in the first five words, 'beginners' tells the wrong audience to keep scrolling, and 'Book below' points at the link. If you only have room for three of the four, drop 'who it's for' before the place or the next step.

TikTok bio ideas for UK trades and local businesses

These bios are grouped by trade. The number is the length in characters, spaces included.

Wedding photographerWedding photographer, Yorkshire Dales. 2027 dates open. Enquire below69
Wedding cakesWedding cakes made in Norwich. Tastings by appointment. Book via the link73

Some patterns repeat across the examples. Most of the trade bios put the job and the town first, because the viewer's first question is 'can they come to me?'. Postcode districts, as in the Harrogate florist's 'HG1 to HG3', answer that more precisely than a county. Salons and nail techs often say when new slots open, which can give people a reason to follow. Wedding suppliers mention the year they are booking, which can save a round of messages.

Keep claims in the bio true and current. 'Free first session', a registration such as Gas Safe, or a delivery promise is a promise to customers, so only write it if you offer it today, and make sure any conditions, such as the areas you deliver to or an order cut-off time, are clear wherever people book. If 'boilers' in your bio means gas boilers, HSE says that anyone employed to work on gas appliances in homes must be a Gas Safe registered engineer.

TikTok bio ideas for UK creators

A creator's bio tells a new viewer what kind of video to expect, and often how regularly it arrives. A city is optional here, but it gives the account a face and helps with local collaborations.

CreatorExample bioCharacters
MusicianGlasgow singer-songwriter. New single 'Low Tide' out Friday. Pre-save below75
FoodCheap weeknight dinners from a tiny Leeds flat. New recipe every Monday71
BooksBookTok from Bristol. Mostly crime, some romance. Reviews every Sunday70
StudentThird-year nursing student in Nottingham. Study days and shift life67

A posting rhythm such as 'every Monday' only helps if you keep to it. If your schedule slips, change the bio rather than leave a promise that isn't true.

How do you change your TikTok bio?

You change your bio from Edit profile in the TikTok app.

  1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Tap Edit profile.
  3. Tap Bio, type your new bio and watch the counter.
  4. Save.

Read it back on your profile, not in the editor. A bio that looks fine as you type it may wrap awkwardly under your name on a small phone.

What if you can't add a link to your TikTok bio yet?

A clickable website link on TikTok needs at least 1,000 followers or a Verified Business Account, as our guide to adding a link to your TikTok bio explains with TikTok's own help pages. Until then, 'Book below' points at nothing, and the same goes for the examples above that end in 'via the link', 'Order below' or 'Pre-save below'.

Two things work in the meantime. Swap those endings for a next step that doesn't need a link, such as 'DM to book' or 'Call or WhatsApp to book' with your number in the bio. A number in the bio text can't be tapped and anyone can see it, so use a business number rather than a personal one. Or put a short, typeable address in the bio text, as the Stockport record stall does with digily.bio/crates. It isn't tappable, but it is short enough to remember and type, and it counts towards your characters.

TikTok bio mistakes to avoid

  • Only emojis. 'Cakes, Bath' plus five cake emojis tells people less than 'Celebration cakes in Bath. Order 2 weeks ahead below'.
  • A slogan instead of the job. 'Passionate about quality and excellence in everything we do' is 59 characters with nothing a customer can act on.
  • 'Link in bio' with no link. If you are under 1,000 followers and not verified, there is no link field yet, so say how to reach you instead.
  • Leaving out the place. People who find you through a video could live anywhere, so the bio is where local viewers learn you are near them.
  • Out-of-date details. Old prices, last season's opening hours or a single that came out months ago make the account look abandoned.

Should your TikTok bio match your Instagram bio?

Keep the facts the same and rewrite the words. Your trade, town and booking route should match across apps so customers aren't confused. The space is not the same, though. Instagram allows 150 characters, so an Instagram bio can carry opening hours and a speciality that won't fit on TikTok. Our Instagram bio ideas for UK small businesses has examples written for that longer space.

Where should your TikTok bio link go?

Once the link field appears, decide whether you need one destination or several. If bookings are all you take, your booking page may be the best link. If you have more to offer, point it at one page that holds everything a viewer might want, such as your booking page, menu, shop and WhatsApp. On Digily Link the free plan includes 5 bio link pages, and blocks such as link buttons, a TikTok video, a YouTube video, opening hours and social icons are all available on it (plan settings checked 29 October 2026). If you're new to the idea, start with what a link in bio is.

Build the page your TikTok bio link opens with Digily Link, so 'Book below' in your bio leads somewhere.
